Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Assists in meeting staffing needs by conducting interviews, checking references and background checks or utilization of staffing/temporary service.
  2. Maintains employee records and assists in presenting new hire benefits packages.
  3. Utilizes E-Verify to validate I-9 status as well as maintains and audits I-9 records accurately.
  4. Administers leaves of absence ensuring Company and legal requirements are adhered to such as FMLA, ADA and USERRA leaves.
  5. Responds to requests from outside agencies such as Unemployment Claims and Verification of Employment forms.
  6. Serves as an employee advocate to address concerns in the workplace including but not limited to policy interpretation, safety, efficiency, relationship and environmental issues.
  7. Maintains integrity and confidentiality of information.
  8. Provides data reporting to corporate as required.
  9. Manages, maintains and improves safety programs in the facility to drive for a zero incident rate. Utilizes outside resources at the corporate level to keep Safety as a top priority.
  10. Manages payroll setup duties in Paycom such as initializing new employees, terminating former employees and revising employee data as needed.
  11. Must have the ability to recognize when issues need to be elevated to next level of management.
  12. Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities such as reading professional journals, participating in professional networks and seminars as appropriate.
  13. Other duties may be assigned by Manager or Supervisor.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Associates Degree from an accredited school in Business or Human Resources preferred.
  • 2 years of experience in Human Resources and/or Safety.
  • SHRM-CP or PHR preferred
  • Proficient in the Microsoft Office suite specifically Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Emphasis will be placed on Excel skills (data sorting, report writing, pivot tables etc.)
  • Professional e-mail, written and oral communication is required.
  • Must have the ability to write routine reports and correspondence as well as be able to speak effectively before groups of employees of the organization.
