Maintains operating condition of building and equipment and completes repairs as needed. Utilizes knowledge of both fundamental mechanical and electrical aptitude. Installs, repairs, or maintains machinery and equipment by performing work at a journeyman's level. Assignments include installing and repairing wiring, equipment, fixtures, electrical devices, etc. for production and facility preservation. Also performs diagnostic and maintenance work on equipment. Assists with other maintenance duties as required.
Responsibilities:
- Communicate and cooperate with supervisors and coworkers.
- Determine schedules, sequences, and assignments for work activities, based on work priority, quantity of equipment and skill of personnel.
- Monitor tool and part inventories and the condition and maintenance of shops to ensure adequate working conditions.
- Examines and provides regular and emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment, objects and facilities.
- Inspects, test. and measure completed work using devices, such as hand tools and gauges to verify conformance to standards and repair requirements.
- Requisitions materials and supplies, such as tools, equipment, and replacement parts.
- Compute estimates and actual costs of factors such as materials, labor, and outside contractors. Review, evaluate, accept, and coordinate completion of work bid from contractors.
- install and repairs electrical apparatus, such as transformers and wiring, electrical and electronic components of machinery and equipment.
- Ability to dismantle devices to access and remove defective parts, using hoists, cranes, hand tools, and power tools. Install new parts and reassemble.
- Listen for unusual sounds from machines or equipment to detect malfunctions and discusses machine operation variations with supervisors/ other maintenance to diagnose problem or repair machine.
- Cleans and lubricates shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery.
- Lays out, assembles, installs and maintains pipe systems and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment, and repairs and replaces gauges, valves, pressure regulators, and related equipment.
- Operates cutting torch or welding equipment to cut or join metal parts.
- Fabricates and repairs counters, benches, partitions and other wooden structures.
- Repairs and maintains physical structure of facility.
- Maintain electronic maintenance programs and computer information management system.
Requirements:
- Ability to interpret and utilize hydraulic, electrical and mechanical blueprints, operator manuals and/or part catalogs to successfully fulfill preventative and corrective maintenance procedures.
- Program PLC's.
- Safely sets up and operates machine tools such as lathe, grinder, drill and milling machine to repair or fabricate machine parts, jigs, fixtures and tools.
- Use of Proper PPE and LOTO as required.
- Maintain good attendance and able to work weekends as needed.
- Certified to use Forklift, reach-truck, scissor lift.
- Complies with OSHA Safety and Health rules.
- Valid Driver’s License
- Must be able to pass a drug screening.
