JOB SUMMARY:  This position is responsible for various functions of the Wealth Management Department with a focus on retirement planning to include servicing and selling of Employee Benefits Plans to current and new clients.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Understand all types of retirement plans – including but not limited to IRAs, SIMPLE IRAs, SEP IRAs, 401(k) plans, 403(b) plans, 457 plans, Cash Balance Plans and Pension Plans
  • Also understand other employee benefits plans and services
  • Coordinate with BPAS concerning current plans
  • Coordinate client’s interaction with BPAS
  • Monitor performance of Employee Benefit Plans – to include employee participation rates, employee savings rates and overall performance of the retirement plan
  • Train employees of clients on why and how to save for retirement or other financial needs
  • Increase participation in current plans
  • Understand the loan features of retirement plans
  • Work with Investment Executive on retirement plans investments
  • Market our Employee Benefit plans to prospective customers – including coordination with BPAS on Marketing Material and Sale Presentations
  • Meet with current clients at least annually to see if any improvements need to be made to their current plan
  • Meet with prospective clients to obtain new plans
  • Assist with plan design for current and prospective clients
  • Assist plan participants with questions concerning their retirement accounts or other financial needs
  • Prepare monthly reports on current retirement plans
  • Prepare monthly reports on prospective employee benefit clients
  • Assist EB clients with any questions or concerns about their retirement plans
  • Assist Trust Department with other projects and duties
  • Must be able to meet attendance and punctuality standards
  • Effectively work and cooperate with supervisors, co-workers and customers
  • Follow the direction of supervisor

 

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform other duties and projects as required by management
Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR CONSIDERATION:

  • 1 to 2 years in office environment providing clerical/administrative skills preferred
  • On the job training will be provided
  • Accounting education and/or extensive experience preferred
  • Proficient computer, 10 key, and typing skills

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a wide variety of plan participants – from blue collar workers to white collar workers all possessing different levels of education and knowledge of investments
  • Strong interpersonal skills: able to work well with a wide range of people
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Demonstrate dependability through good attendance and adherence to timelines and schedules
  • Strong follow through on projects and deliverables
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrate resourcefulness and ability to take initiative in development and completion of projects
  • Strong sense of customer service
  • Strong proficiency in pc applications: Windows, MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, Adobe and also the ability to learn job related software required
  • Must have the ability to compute basic math functions
  • Bookkeeping/accounting skills required to balance transactions
  • Must be able to meet strict deadlines
  • High degree of professionalism, customer service, sales, teamwork and confidentiality is required

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

This work is sedentary and requires the following physical activities:

  • Sitting for long periods of time; occasional bending, squatting, kneeling, stooping; good finger dexterity and feeling; frequent repetitive motions; talking, hearing, and visual acuity
  • Frequent lifting (up to 25 pounds of paper supplies or minor office equipment)
  • Driving to client locations and other sites as needed
