We are looking for a skilled and motivated individual to join our team as a Field Technician. In this role, you become a member of Operating Engineers Local 3, you also will be responsible for providing on-site servicing, diagnostics, and repairs on Komatsu heavy equipment. What you'll do...
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair mechanical, electrical and hydraulic failures of heavy equipment.
- Access Komatsu and other OEM websites to retrieve service manuals and other documents.
- Drive a service truck to various locations.
- Perform factory updates as scheduled, following the manufacturer's instructions and staying within recommended labor time requirement guidelines.
- Keep an accurate record of time worked to guarantee that each work order contains correct labor entries.
- Maintain daily service reports and equipment status reports.
- Complete all necessary forms and accurately depict each step in the repair process to expedite payment from the customer.
- Complete warranty information and store failed parts to ensure maximum reimbursement from OEM for each warranty claim.
- Perform an FLRA (Field Level Risk Assessment) at each jobsite and always remain vigilant of potential hazards.
- Communicate professionally and in a service-oriented manner, both written and verbally, with customers, vendors, and manufacturers.
- Actively participate in the meeting of department goals, including customer loyalty.
- Contribute to accurate customer machine population in the enterprise resource planning system (ERP).
- Contribute to accurate customer name and address information in customer relationship management (CRM) system.
- Other duties as assigned.
What you'll need...
- 3+ years of successful hands-on experience with diesel engines, hydraulics, and diagnostics.
- Valid driver’s license and clean 3-year driving record.
- Experienced with the latest electronically controlled machines.
- Must be able to fully comprehend hydraulic and electrical schematics with a history of successful troubleshooting and technical experience.
- Competence in using a laptop and relevant software applications, such as Microsoft Outlook and Word; new hire will be trained on dealer ERP.
- Must Provide own tools.
- Associate degree or certification in Diesel Mechanics preferred.
- High School diploma or equivalent required.

Pay Range : $49.74 - $60.00 p/h depending on skillset and experience
