Description

The Next Gen Technical Director contributes to compelling, distraction-free worship services throughout Next Gen ministries by providing excellent audio, visual and lighting support in all Next Gen venues; by resourcing and supporting the programs, staff, and volunteers that use those venues.

 

RESPONSIBILITES

 

Lead the Next Gen Production Staff for Maximum impact

  • Build a culture defined by love and unity 
  • Manage the staff effectively both on the “what” (measureable outcomes) and the “how” (staff engagement and culture)
  • Provide direction, training, support, feedback and coaching
  • Partner with Organizational Development to hire, transition, evaluate and develop staff  
  • Lead teams to deliver departmental goals  

 

Recruit a Highly Effective Volunteer Team 

  • Build a culture defined by love and unity  
  • Train staff to recruit, lead and direct volunteer teams for maximum impact 
  • Cast vision regularly by sharing stories and celebrating wins 
  • Provide coaching and feedback for continuous improvement 

 

Support the Next Gen Team in Executing Compelling Programs

  • Partner with the Next Gen team to brainstorm and implement services
  • Create and maintain quality production and visual standards
  • Oversee the weekly technical operation of all Next Gen venues, with the support of the staff, volunteers and/or contracted help.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues for all services.
  • Oversee technical needs for special events (Camp, Outreach events, etc.) 
  • Design, create, and implement props and set pieces for productions as needs arise

 

Maintain and Develop A/V and Technical Infrastructures for Next Gen Venues

 

Build Relationships Across Ministries to Deliver Fantastic Customer Service

  • Develop quality, working relationships with Next Gen and Production Department staff
  • Develop quality, working relationships with IT Department and coordinate continual improvement of computer and network resources

 

Perform Other Duties and Tasks as Assigned

  • Receive and apply training and development from the Technical Arts Director
  • Attend department and All-Staff meetings 

 

POSITION TYPE: Full-Time, Exempt

HOURS PER WEEK: 40+

Qualifications

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

  • Experience in theatre management, live audio, live video and lighting
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and to climb 12 foot ladder
  • Must be comfortable working on a single person lift (at heights up to 45 feet)
