Position:           Non-Tenure-Track Assistant/Associate Professor

Reports to:      Dean, School of Business and Management

Status:               Full-time, 12-month position

 

General Description: 

Notre Dame de Namur University in Belmont, CA, is seeking a full-time, non-tenure-track faculty member to teach in the School of Business and Management (SBM) graduate programs beginning Summer 2024. Candidates should be aligned with the scholar-practitioner model and actively contribute to the community. This is a 32-unit (12-month) contract position.

This position involves teaching SBM courses on weekday mornings, afternoons, and /or evenings, including summer. The position requires involvement in university and department service, growth, and development roles, including committee work, program development, professional program development, professional networking, recruitment, promotion, and student mentoring.

Courses may include both undergraduate degree completion and graduate business courses. The position requires actively contributing to the School of Business and Management as part of a small team of full-time faculty. Professional experience in business, graduate-level teaching, student recruiting, and mentoring is required.

Administrative work, including the direction of an academic program, may be assigned as part of the 32-unit load.

 

Qualifications:

  • MBA or Ph.D./DBA in a relevant business area from a regionally accredited university with an academic or practical background in economics, finance, information systems, or logistics. Experience in quantitative and analytical applications is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated experience teaching various business courses at the undergraduate and/or graduate level in asynchronous online, hybrid, and face-to-face modalities.

 

Other qualifications (highly desirable):

  • Demonstrated experience working with students of diverse populations.
  • Demonstrated experience teaching traditional and non-traditional age students.
  • Experience in the operation and/or leadership of an internship or practicum program in the business area, particularly programs focused on tech industries.
  • Experience with academic committees, developing professional programs, and continuing education program knowledge.
  • Engagement in the operation and/or leadership of an undergraduate or graduate business program, including promoting, recruiting, mentoring students and identifying, hiring, and mentoring adjunct instructors.

 

Salary Range: Classification and salary scale placement will be based on years of teaching experience and considered at the time of hire.

  • Assistant Professor: $86,892 - $89,498
  • Associate Professor: $90,821 - $102,221
