Position Summary

  • Compensation: Hourly Rate $26.00 - $35.00

Clay Lacy Aviation is a growing company looking to add talent to the accounting team. This position will be part of the Fuel accounting team supporting both the Van Nuys and Santa Ana locations. The position will be based at our headquarters in Van Nuys.

 

The position will reconcile, research, and resolve fuel discrepancies in compliance with GAAP and company policies. Key responsibilities will include account reconciliations, analysis, closing, and support of operations. The successful candidate will have strong analytical and computer skills and an ability to apply logic in analyzing data, reports, and variances.

 

Responsibilities

  • Reconcile book to physical fuel inventory, analyzing sales and purchases and making comparisons to the end-of-month tank balances. Volume and Dollars.
  • Work with accounts payable to ensure fuel purchases are recorded timely and correctly. Gain an understanding of 3- way match and the handling of vendor pricing.
  • Work with accounts receivable, by applying payments and credits to customer accounts, in preparation for follow-up on unpaid balances. Heavy use of Microsoft Excel to sort and combine data.
  • Work with customer service representatives as it relates to customer invoicing and credit card payments.
  • Reconcile Tenant security deposits monthly and ensure all deposits have been billed out accordingly.
  • Analyze the Merchant report, utilizing intermediate excel skills to download, sort, filter, and v-lookup data. Create accurate reports that facilitate sound analysis. Record customer credits to the general ledger.
  • Prepare fuel reporting for a key vendor weekly. Gain an understanding of pricing, fuel discounts, and work with the vendor to resolve differences.
  • Provide general ledger coding for various third-party charges, such as dry cleaning, catering, and car wash expense.
  • Various reconciliations based on new system implementation and upgrades.
  • Gain an understanding of the fuel accounting processes and related accounting software, including the FBO360, Corridor and Great Plains.
  • Comply with internal controls and maintain proper documentation.
  • Prepare other schedules and supporting documentation as required.
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications

Education

Bachelor’s or Associate's degree. Preferably with a major in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field

 

Experience

  • 5+ years of relevant experience in Accounting

  • Excellent computer and excel skills using medium to large excel files
