Position Summary: Reporting to the AVP, Development & LETR, the Manager, Development & Law Enforcement Torch Run (LETR) will collaborate with the AVP, Development & LETR to create and implement activities in SONCÂ’s Central Valley Region. The incumbent will leverage the Special Olympics partnership with law enforcement and corporate partners to raise funds, awareness of the organizationÂ’s mission, and increase organizational support.


Responsibilities/Essential Functions:

  • Manage revenue streams and ensure that event revenue goals are achieved.
  • Support the day-to-day operations of the Northern California fundraising program, including securing corporate and community partnerships, recruiting and retaining our law enforcement partners, and collaborating on program-wide fundraising events to increase revenue and participation in the Central Valley Region.
  • Collaborate with Special Olympics Northern California Central Valley program staff to identify program activities, competitions, and events to showcase for partnerships, sponsorships, engagement, and funding.
  • Oversee the recruitment, retention, and renewal of law enforcement agency participation, including training and education about Special Olympics and LETR.
  • In collaboration with the Development team, identify, cultivate, secure, and act as steward of corporate partnerships.
  • Develop new sources of corporate and community organization revenue including, but not limited to:
    • Program & Event Sponsorships
    • Corporate Giving, Engagement & Employee Giving
    • Consumer Campaigns
  • Maintain timely, effective follow-up and stewardship with potential partners and law enforcement agencies.
  • Analyze existing and potential LETR revenue sources for cultivation, feasibility, and profitably.
  • Oversee and manage various aspects of SONC LETR events such as: LETR Golf Invitational, Torch Run, Tip a Cop, and Kickoff Conferences.
  • Ensure the successful execution of special events, including Polar Plunges, by: Managing recruitment and retention, corporate engagement, committee management, and event logistics.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications, Skills & Experiences:

  • Minimum of 3 years of demonstrated work experience in fundraising, community engagement and/or events.
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred; or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Ability to consistently exercise discretion and independent judgement to achieve company/ department goals.
  • Must have familiarity with non-profit organizations along with fundraising principles and practices.
  • Proven track record of raising funds and managing events.
  • Must be a detail-oriented, highly organized self-starter, capable working independently as well collaboratively with a team.
  • Possess excellent written, verbal, communication, time management, and multi-tasking/ prioritization skills.
  • Minimum of an intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and/or Google Suite, Document Management (DocuSign and Box), Zoom and Teams.
  • Ability to work occasional nights and weekends based on the events calendar.
  • Previous experience in a customer service industry a plus.
  • Valid driver’s license & ability to travel.
