Position Summary

The Dining Room Service Attendant is responsible for serving food and maintaining the dining area in sanitary condition. This individual will report to the Food Services Director. This is a part-time position under 20 hours per week.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Provides services to the school community and guests in a friendly and efficient manner.

  • Sets up, maintains and breaks down the buffet/salad bar.

  • Cleans dining area including serving area continually.

  • Cleans the dining area before and after service.

  • Maintains appearance of all equipment and serving counters.

  • Performs other related duties as required.

 

Schedule

20 hours per week Monday-Friday during the School year.

 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Prior experience in volume feeding. 

  • Prior experience in a related food service position.

 

Minimum Qualifications 

  • Knowledge of workplace safety procedures.

  • Ability to read and understand labels.

  • Ability to maintain professional demeanor in high-stress situations.

  • Successful criminal background check, and pre-employment physical examination.

  • Regularly walk and stand during the entire shift and occasionally sit. 

  • Occasionally reach, lift, bend, kneel, stoop, climb, push and pull items weighing 50 lbs or less. 

  • Manual dexterity; auditory and visual skills; and the ability to follow written and oral instructions and procedures. 

  • Working primarily indoors in a hot, damp environment with some work done outside. 

  • Occasional exposure to sharp machinery, broken glass, metal cans, and heat sources with some potential for injury. 

  • Frequent hand washing.

  • A moderate to high noise level in the work environment.
