Join our amazing team as a Before & Afterschool Care Counselor. This position has flexible scheduling, no weekend hours, a fun working environment and great experiences working with children! Counselors lead a group of children through before and after school activities during 2022-2023 school year at a local elementary school in Northbrook or Glenview.

This position runs through June 2023 with opportunities for employment as a summer camp counselor and continued employment during the 2023-2024 school year.

Schedule:

Program runs 5 days a week (Monday-Friday). While the ability to work Monday through Friday is strongly preferred, applicants must be willing to commit to at least 2 days a week.

Shift time for Before School Care is 6:45am-8:30am. Shift time for After School Care is 2:45pm - 5:15pm/6pm at the latest. The shift end time may vary based on child pick-up times and counselor/child ratios.

Pay & Shift Information:

Starting rate: $15+ per hour

Duties & Responsibilities:

Lead a group of children through daily before and afterschool activities including homework, arts & crafts and physically distanced indoor and outdoor games. Other daily responsibilities include communicating with parents during drop off and pickup, implementing safety guidelines, supervising safety and supporting the Site Director with activity planning.

Must be at least 16 years of age. Experience working with children is preferred. Enrollment in a college degree program in education, recreation or a related field is desired.
