Description

St. Mary Catholic Virtue School in LIttleton, Colorado is seeking a part-time reading intervention teacher. We are a Preschool-8th grade school with an enrollment of 490 students. The Special Education & Resource Teacher provides:

  • Individualized reading intervention instruction for small-groups

  • Identification of students in need of intervention

  • Response to Intervention implementation

  • Progress monitoring

  • Benchmark administration

  • Parent communication

  • Orton-Gillingham training  

  • Case manager for students with special needs and students requiring reading intervention 

  • On-­going student assessment and evaluation

  • Collaborating with regular classroom teachers to support students identified as special needs 

  • Addressing teacher and parent concerns for students with qualifying diagnostic evidence 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Teaches students for the purpose of ensuring successful progress towards grade-level reading benchmarks

  • Consults and collaborates with parents and staff for the purpose of ensuring appropriate delivery of services

  • Schedules sessions for students for the purpose of delivering regular literacy intervention

Qualifications

  • Knowledge and skill to provide instruction in literacy

  • Successful completion of Yoshimoto Orton-Gillingham Basic Training June 10-14, 2024
