Description

St. Mary Catholic Virtue School in LIttleton, Colorado is seeking a full-time Special Education teacher for students with mild to moderate special needs. We are a Preschool-8th grade school with an enrollment of 490 students. The Special Education & Resource Teacher provides:

  • In-classroom support for students with mild to moderate special needs
  • Case manager for students with mild/moderate special needs 
  • On-­going student assessment and evaluation
  • Collaborating with regular classroom teachers to support students identified as special needs 
  • Addressing teacher and parent concerns for students with qualifying diagnostic evidence 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develops and updates Student Support Plans for the purpose of meeting the individual needs of exceptional students
  • Teaches students for the purpose of ensuring successful progress towards student's goals and objectives in the least restrictive learning environment
  • Consults and collaborates with parents and staff for the purpose of ensuring appropriate delivery of services
  • Schedules services for students for the purpose of providing efficient and effective services for students

Qualifications

  • Knowledge and skill to provide instruction in the areas of literacy and math
  • Collaborates with Littleton Public School to ensure appropriate delivery of services under our Proportionate Share agreement of IDEA
  • Applicants must be a Catholic in good standing
  • Applicants must have a teaching license or certificate that is valid in Colorado; or be willing to obtain Colorado teaching licensure
