Lerch Bates is seeking a full-time Project Manager for the state of Florida. This role is designed with future growth and development in mind.

The Project Manager will act more as a “technical consultant in training” while learning the ins and outs of the Vertical Transportation industry as well as getting hands on field experience. Through daily workflow and field experience, you will become an integral part of the problem-solving process for our clients and industry partners.

 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Assisting a team of consulting professionals in completing projects
  • Communicating with staff and clients, making decisions, and monitoring the progress of the project to keep it on schedule.
  • Managing long- and short-term deadlines, including setting targets for milestones and adhering to deadlines
  • Providing deliverables to clients, as well as being a point of contact between our consultants, clients, contractors, vendors, and internal project analysts
  • Manage elevator consulting team projects in various tools:
  • Excel, Outlook, Cloud (SharePoint) and Deltek Database
  • Working with many team members from multiple departments
  • Serving as a point of contact for projects and or consultants
  • Participation in client progress calls
  • Bid meetings
  • Performing quality control on the project throughout development to maintain the standards expected
  • Adjusting schedules and targets on the project as needs change
  • 10% to 25% client-facing travel in the state of Florida.
  • Learning to make the most effective decisions when presented with multiple options for how to progress with projects
  • Delegating tasks on the project internally as well as how to work within the client confines of the scope of work
  • Development of aptitude, drive, timeliness, and quality of work
  • Accumulating technical knowledge in the industries that we service and provide
  • Technical Writing

 

Required Education, Experience and Skills:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree required. Preferred areas of study: Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management
  • Organization
  • Time management
  • Basic understanding of mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Self-driven/self-management skills
  • Problem solving
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to learn quickly and understand mechanical concepts
  • Knowledge/experience in the construction/existing building trade
  • Experience with Bluebeam Revu
  • Typing
  • Precious Employment history (Internships or co-ops included)
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be a service-minded professional that takes personal accountability and initiative in getting the job done
  • Strong customer service skills, with the ability to defuse situations and resolve problems
  • Highly organized, detail oriented and ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities.
  • Fundamental knowledge of Microsoft Office applications. Intermediate to advance knowledge preferred in WORD and Excel.
