The PA Education Association (PAEA) seeks an experienced PA educator to join our team as a Member Experience Specialist. This position will leverage their PA educator expertise drive engagement with and improvement of our products and services.  

 

THE ORGANIZATION 
PAEA is the only national organization representing PA educational programs in the United States. Currently, all accredited programs in the country are PAEA members. PAEA provides services for faculty at its member programs, as well as to applicants, students, and other stakeholders. 

With a vision of health for all, PAEA’s mission is advancing excellence in PA education through leadership, scholarship, equity, and inclusion. To accomplish this mission, PAEA seeks to: 

  • Encourage and assist programs to educate competent and compassionate PAs. 

  • Enhance programs’ capacity to recruit, select, and retain well-qualified PA students. 

  • Support programs in the recruitment, selection, development, and retention of well-qualified faculty. 

  • Facilitate the pursuit and dissemination of research and scholarly work. 

  • Educate PAs who will practice evidence-based, patient-centered medicine. 

  • Serve as the definitive voice on matters related to entry-level PA education, nationally and internationally. 

  • Foster professionalism and innovation in health professions education. 

  • Promote interprofessional education and practice. 

  • Forge linkages with other organizations to advance its mission.

 

THE POSITION

The Member Experience Specialist is a key individual contributor and subject matter expert in the Member Experience (MX) department. PAEA’s MX department includes three key areas: Member Engagement, Admissions Services, and Assessment Services. The MX Specialist will leverage their PA educator expertise to develop and disseminate resources that help members better utilize PAEA’s products and services across these areas.

 

Specific Responsibilities:
This role requires a PA educator with a demonstrated understanding of and experience with PAEA products and services. Responsibilities include: 

  • Lead the development and dissemination of educational content and resources that support programs in the use of PAEA's products and services.
  • Engage with PA educators and faculty members to understand their needs and challenges, fostering strong relationships and gathering insights to inform resource development and experience improvements.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to incorporate feedback from members into the development and enhancement of products and services, ensuring they meet the unique needs of this audience.
  • Work closely with the Marketing and Communications team to ensure that all materials and communications targeting PA educators are accurate, relevant, and effective.
  • Participate in the oversight of MX alongside leaders from the Admissions, Assessment, and Member Engagement teams.
  • Participate in strategic planning and goal development for MX, including ideation of new member benefits, products, and services.
  • Lead special projects or initiatives for MX, as assigned.
  • Assist MX teams and their volunteer committees to fully execute charges.
  • Stay current on trends and topics related to PA education.

Qualifications

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities 

Required 

  • Master's Degree in PA Studies or similar PA degree. 

  • 3-5 years' experience as a PA educator at an ARC-PA accredited program.  

  • Familiarity with PAEA member benefits, products, and services.  

  • Demonstrated experience using PAEA products and services, including CASPA, WebAdmit, Analytics by Liaison, and/or administering PAEA exams (PACKRAT, End of Rotation, and/or End of Curriculum).  

  • Demonstrated experience developing and running projects, including project planning, management, and budgeting.  

  • Excellent skills in problem-solving, interpersonal communication, writing/editing, planning, organization, time management, productivity, efficiency, and managing multiple project simultaneously 

  • The ability to effectively mentor, train, educate, and support colleagues within the same or similar professional level. The ideal candidate will demonstrate skills in fostering growth, providing guidance, and facilitating knowledge exchange among peers. 

Preferred 

  • Experience with Salesforce or other customer relationship management systems. 

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT & BENEFITS

This position is remote, with some regular travel to company headquarters and other meeting locations as needed. This position is largely sedentary in nature, however, one must possess the ability to speak, hear, and write as well as the ability to use a computer and related software programs. 

PAEA offers a competitive salary and benefits that considers external market compensation and maintains internal equity. The initial salary range for the position is $100-110K annually. The benefits package includes health, life, and disability insurances; paid time off and holidays; a 4031(kb) retirement plan with an 8% employer contribution; monthly wellness stipend, professional development funding, tuition assistance, and other benefits.
