Flat River Group has experienced incredible growth over the last 12 years, and we now have five US-based distribution facilities 

 

We are currently searching for a DC Operations Trainer for our Peru, IL distribution center. The DC Operations Trainer position is a year-round position dedicated to training new associates. This position will provide training to all new temporary and full-time warehouse employees, providing mentorship on job-specific tasks and procedures. 

 

The ideal candidate will have interest and experience helping others to learn and follow a process, and the ability to communicate well with internal teams, lead employees, and possess a desire to pass on knowledge of Flat River Group processes and procedures.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform on-the-job training to ensure new staff is qualified for their positions.

  • Inform new staff about company policies and procedures.

  • Provide training for those working within specific departments.

  • Communicate any issues or concerns with the department Supervisor or Operations Manager.

  • Maintain communication with the DC Manager, reporting directly to them.

  • Collaborate with, and have a dotted line reporting relationship to, the Learning & Development Manager.

Qualifications

Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Excellent communication skills.

  • Must follow established training procedures and curriculum and be well-versed with job duties associated with the department and comfortable performing them.

  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.

  • Reliable attendance.

  • Ability to work well and be fair with others.

  • Ability to instruct employees.

  • Capability to identify improvement opportunities in current processes.

  • Aptness to learn and understand the training procedures and day-to-day operations with each department.

  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.).

 

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

  • 1+ years of experience in warehouse environment and operations preferred.

  • 1+ years of experience in group training and mentorship preferred.
