PRIMARY PURPOSE

The Business Analyst will be responsible for performing general analysis and preparing reports to support business operations. Other responsibilities include; Modeling, forecasting, trending, variance analysis, business case development, and other general financial and operational analysis. Monitoring and coordinating activities to support operational performance management. Researching statistical financial and operational information. Tracking, maintaining, analyzing, and providing current information on the operation's key performance indicators (KPIs). Supporting project delivery for IT initiatives. Developing and organizing reports for both internal and external use.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (Majority of duties performed, but not to be all-inclusive or to prevent other duties from being assigned)

  1. Support and contribute to the development of short-term and long-range business planning. Conduct modeling, forecasting, trending, variance analysis, business case development, and other financial and operational analysis.
  2. Provide statistical information to ensure the most effective utilization of personnel, equipment and/or materials for business operations.
  3. Monitor and coordinate activities to support operational performance management (e.g., safety, reliability, service level, productivity, etc.).
  4. Track, maintain, analyze and provide current information on the operation's key performance indicators (KPIs).
  5. Develop, organize and present detailed performance reports for both internal and external use.
  6. Provide analytical and operational support to the business unit.
  7. Work with stakeholders of IT systems to define the system requirements and design approach.
  8. Perform other duties as assigned.

 

 

Qualifications

JOB REQUIREMENTS (Experience, education, knowledge, skills & abilities required for competent performance in the job)

  1. Bachelors degree (Engineering, Energy, Building Science, Construction Management, Business) or related experience.)
  2. 3+ years of experience in Business Analyst role
  3. General understanding of applicable standards, methods, processes and practices, business fundamentals, and performance metrics.
  4. Ability to provide general analysis and apply managerial accounting concepts, customer intelligence gathering, forecasting, staff planning, scheduling, analytical and statistical problem solving, financial, accounting, business and budget analysis.
  5. Experience in developing standard documentation such as requirement specifications, test scripts and other support documentation.
  6. Ability to analyze organizational data and problems, interpret and recommend alternatives.
  7. Ability to work autonomously and collaborate with counterparts in a team environment.
  8. Strong interpersonal and presentation skills.
  9. Strong organizational, project management, problem solving and prioritization skills.
  10. Resourcefulness to meet tight deadlines and flexibility with fluctuating priorities.
  11. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, in speech and writing, with internal and external stakeholders.
  12. Comprehensive knowledge and experience in Microsoft Office Suite.
  13. Perform the essential functions and physical demands of the position with or without accommodation.

Position requires weekly in-office meeting with utility client in Philadelphia, PA

  1. Consistently spending time sitting, typing, talking, walking and using repetitive motion.
  2. Frequent use of eye, hand, and finger coordination enabling the use of automated office machinery, such as a computer.
  3. Oral and auditory capacity enabling interpersonal communication as well as communication through automated devices such as the telephone.
  4. Visual capacity enabling frequent use of computer equipment.
  5. Sedentary work: ability to exert up to 10 pounds of force to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
