Production Tech

The Production Technician is responsible for producing and upholding the highest level of show quality through the production, maintenance and cleanliness of the attractions, facility and property. The Production Technician is also responsible for constructing, assembling and installing new sets, props, lighting, animatronics and other amazing show elements.

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

• Perform routine and emergency maintenance and repairs to uphold show quality and safety

• Maintain cleanliness of attractions, backstage area and midway

• Set-up, Install and troubleshoot animatronics

• Construct and assemble set pieces and props based on detailed plans

• Basic painting of sets

• Properly store equipment and materials

• Seasonal outdoor infrastructure setup

• Responsible for turning on, shutting down and troubleshooting technical aspects of the show during show operationsConduct routine inspection of premises and equipment

• Perform preventative maintenance

• Handle basic repairs and maintenance

• Maintain cleanliness of event and property

• Report maintenance and repair issues to the Production Coordinator

• Perform other duties as assigned

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: 

• High school diploma or GED

• Proven relevant technical experience working with animatronics and lighting 

• Experience performing routine maintenance

• Skilled in the use of hand and power tools

• Basic knowledge of carpentry and painting required. Advanced knowledge of carpentry and painting preferred

• Ability to diagnose mechanical issues and repair or offer solutions

• Eye for detail

• Be able to work independently and in a team setting.

• Professional presentation and attitude

SCHEDULE AVAILABILITY:

Preopening Build Team

• Must be available to work 24-40 hours a week in September during daytime hours Additional hours may be available after September.

In-Season Show Techs.  Must be available to work weekends and evenings during seasonally from mid-September through mid-November.  See Shaqtoberfest.com for show schedule. 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:

• Works outdoors in various weather conditions

• Position may occasionally require lifting/carrying of objects over 50 lbs.
