Description

The VP Enterprise Platform Engineering will be lead multiple enterprise level engineering and architectural initiatives for our payment product platforms. This role will be accountable for architecting and implementing cloud native, service oriented and micro-service architectures for enterprise level business applications that are aligned with overall business strategy.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Works/collaborates with business and technology units to help develop the long-term architectural strategy for the design and development of services-based cloud native products and services.

  • Leader of the architects and staff engineers responsible for platform architecture, design, complex development, new pattern testing and adoption and assisting product development teams with execution.  
  • Collaborates and drives the technology strategy that translate into a delivery strategy that delivers the new platforms efficiently and with minimum risk to ongoing operations.
  • Fosters an environment that generates breakthrough ideas and executes them effectively.
  • Mentors architects and technical teams for designing customer-facing enterprise class applications to deliver robust, scalable, and efficient software solutions.
  • Develops and communicates clear performance expectations to the development team. Monitors and observes performance of various development teams and provides clear and timely feedback. Reinforces through positive feedback.
  • Provides leadership and expertise in the development of standards, architectural governance, design patterns, and practices.
  • Organizes tech trainings to improve employees' knowledge and skills for organizational, developmental growth.
  • Partners with team leads to conceptualize technical strategies, and design/review the requirements for the project.
  • Produces production ready POC applications to prove the conceptual designs, if needed.
  • Evaluates internal functions, system development strategies, and suggest recommended improvements.
  • Develop system architecture models to align with the organization's strategies and goals.
  • Develops methods for compliance architecture, such as but not limited to data storage, metadata management, and change control.
  • Identify and implement build versus buy strategies.
  • Guides development teams in re-architecting legacy applications (Microsoft stack) to make them scalable, and satisfactory for end users using containerized, service based architecture.
  • Provides documentation, training, and support for the designed solution.
  • Ability to assist business partners to be self-sufficient in designing business process workflows.
  • Maintains up-to-date industry knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases and new cutting edge technologies around Single Sign-On, Mobile development, DevOps, Software Architecture, Cloud Offerings etc.
     

Qualifications

Education & Experience

 

  • 15+ years’ experience in building and integrating file, api and web-based high traffic software systems with 99.99% uptime.
  • 8+ years experience in leading architecture and software development teams designing technology platforms and their integrations with 3rd party systems.
  • Experience in Microsoft technologies including Azure and .net is a must, other cloud technologies will be a plus.
  • Proven success working closely with Product Management, contributing to the product strategy, and helping to successfully deliver on a product roadmap.
  • Experience working in a medium to large size (200+) engineering organization as lead/chief architect managing a team of architects and being a tie breaker and glue between different architecture and engineering leaders.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field. Advanced Degree preferred.
