Job Title:  Technical and Marketing Coordinator

Purpose of Position/Summary:

The Technical and Marketing Coordinator is responsible for providing product support for KYB associates and customers.  The Technical and Marketing Coordinator helps with product related projects, warranty, and technical knowledge.  Additionally, this position backs-up the Product Development Specialist in the product warranty process (customer off-invoice and labor claims).  This position assists with OEM data research and sample purchases.  This position also backs up the Marketing team with administrative work and coordinating new marketing efforts.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Technical Support:
    • Provide Technical Department with telephone support and emails to customers;
    • Provide technical assistance to Customer Support, Sales & Marketing Departments;
    • Research customer concerns and report findings to the Product Department Supervisor/Manager;
    • Assist with competitive catalog interchanges (Monroe, Gabriel, etc.);
    • Maintain product issue and consumer questions database;
  • Product Quality and Improvement:
    • Review and process customer labor claim requests;
    • Assist with reviewing and processing customer warranty reports;
    • Identify product weak points and recommend actionable steps with the goal of continuous product quality improvement;
  • Product Development:
    • Contribute to the development and launch of new applications; assist with OE research, contribute to the creation of new installation instructions and help investigate potential new products/applications;
    • Study the VCdb (Vehicle Configurator database) Viewer software.  Must have the ability to clearly understand the Make, Model, and Submodel options to ask the proper questions when assisting customers using the KYB Technical line;
    • Use VCdb and online data to build OEM data research files for new development projects;
  • Marketing:
    • Fulfill requests for new product line research:
      • Product and competitor research;
      • Ordering sample parts;
      • Coordination of research vehicle usage, including fit checks and road tests;
      • Contribute to planning and execution of launch event;
      • Participate in developing product marketing strategy;
    • Oversee that all promo results are gathered on a weekly basis.  Tabulate all promo results and cost breakdown at the end of each promotional period.  Maintain an ongoing year to year promo results comparison report;
    • Oversee that all training results for both Service Tech Video Training and Parts Pro Video Training Series are recorded on a monthly basis, broken down by region, and sent to the Regional Managers, Sales Manager and Director of Sales on a monthly basis;
    • Manage sales materials inventory and recommend replenishment on an as needed basis;
    • Oversee that all invoices under $1000 and Marketing Funds Requests are processed within 24 hours of receipt;
    • Manage merchandise vendor relationship and present new and desirable merchandise ideas to support the KYB brand and help drive sales;
    • Report coverage of all press releases sent within 1 week after each release;
    • Monitor and respond to Marketing e-mail requests on a daily basis;
    • Support the Marketing Department, and all other departments, with special projects designed to increase sales or improve communication;
  • Other duties assigned by immediate Supervisor or Manager on an as needed basis.

Job Requirements:

This position requires a high school diploma or GED from an accredited organization.  Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in related field preferred, but not required.  Automotive industry experience is a plus.  Must possess strong interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills and can provide exceptional customer service to all customers and all departments in the KYB organization.  Must demonstrate diligent attention to detail, organization skills and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, ever changing environment.  Proficient in using technology, including MS Office suite.  This position requires domestic and potential international travel.  This position requires the ability to prioritize various job duties/projects and work efficiently under time constraints independently without direct supervision.  A valid state driver’s license is required.
