Description

American Farmland Trust (AFT) is the only national organization that takes a holistic approach to agriculture, focusing on the land itself, the agricultural practices used on that land, and the farmers and ranchers who do the work. AFT launched the conservation agriculture movement and continues to raise public awareness through our No Farms, No Food message. Since our founding in 1980, AFT has helped permanently protect over 7 million acres of agricultural lands, advanced environmentally sound farming practices on millions of additional acres and supported thousands of farm families. Long a pioneering leader, AFT is now riding a new wave of growth, driven by agriculture’s most pressing needs and opportunities, made even more evident in the age of a global pandemic.

The Position

Collaboration: Work closely with the Individual Giving team, and the broader Development Team, to align prospect research efforts with fundraising goals and priorities. Provide support to fundraising staff in prospect identification and cultivation strategies. Pull donors lists for mailings and provide ongoing training on NXT database.

Prospect Tracking and Reporting: Support Development Directors in tracking donor interactions, solicitations, and outcomes to measure portfolio progress. As requested, prepare reports and updates for internal stakeholders and leadership.

Professional Development: Stay informed about trends and best practices in prospect research, fundraising, and philanthropy. Attend conferences, workshops, and training sessions to enhance skills and knowledge in donor prospecting and relationship management.
