Position Summary:

Perform routine QC testing of antibodies and proteins using standard operating procedures (SOP) to determine the status of the product.  Conduct stability testing on proteins and antibodies to predict shelf life. Perform a variety of tests including: Direct ELISA, Functional ELISA, Western Blot, Array, ELISpot experiments, and Impurity ELISA (mycoplasma, host cell protein, host cell DNA).  Participate in investigations, internal requests, and custom projects.  Actively take part in group projects as needed.  Assist with improving lab protocols.  Perform additional duties as assigned.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine QC testing following SOP
  • Monitor product and laboratory documentation
  • Analyze and report data with the consideration of intra and inter-assay variations and other factors which may affect the assay results
  • Keep accurate records of all experiments performed
  • Follow GMP guidelines, documentation, and workflow
  • Provide support to technical services department (and other departments) by giving pertinent information and by performing lab procedures to resolve customer complaints (or other issues). Conduct special projects.
  • Participate in lab meetings
  • Perform other duties as required including stability testing, lab duties for general area, updating protocols, etc.
  • Follow company policies and practices as outlined in the Handbook and follows guidelines regarding safety as outlined in the AWAIR, Chemical Hygiene and Exposure Control manuals in accordance to the job

 

 

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in the biological sciences or equivalent, with a 0 to 2 years related experience

     

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Basic knowledge of cell biology, chemistry, and lab equipment (pipettes, microscope, centrifuge, and
    incubator)
  • Problem solving ability, record keeping (Excel, Access databases) skills, written communication (lab notebook) and organizational skills
  • Math skills – algebraic equations for solving calculations, stoichiometry.  Ability to convert mass units to
    molar units.
  • Skill in establishing effective interpersonal relationships such as the ability to solicit key ideas and
    information
  • Proficient in planning, organizational, time management, and multi-tasking skills
  • Knowledge of company’s safety policy
  • Ability to handle sensitive and proprietary information with discretion and confidentiality
  • Ability to pay attention to details and perform at a high level of accuracy
  • Ability to act independently on routine assignments or on projects with a team
  • Ability to work hours that adhere to standard business operations (8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M.)
  • Flexibility to work alternate or additional hours as needed
