QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Must have at least two trained, sound, and athletic horses in the necessary level of fitness capable of supporting an outrider in his duties
- Farm and/or horse related experiences
- Must be able to work effectively with peers, staff members, and regulatory agency personnel.
- Strong written and oral communication skills required.
- Ability to solve problems and deal with a variety of situations
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Knowledge of the rules and regulations as specified in the OHRC rule rook.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILTIES:
To assist in taking urine samples from horses after a race, this is requested by the stewards.
- Change water buckets after each sample is taken to prevent contamination of samples.
- If a urine sample cannot be taken, then a blood sample is required.
- Each sample is labeled and sent to the lab for testing.
- General clean-up of the test barn area
