Sales Manager

FLSA Status: Exempt

 

Primary Job Function

 

Manages the Primary Sales function by developing/maintaining customer relations, overseeing the sales quotation process, playing a strategic role in the production/delivery planning process and supervising the Sales Team.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

 

  • Contacts new customers and develops relationships based on helping them solve their manufacturing challenges.
  • Finds and follows up on new business leads
  • Coordinates customer visits and information needs
  • Maintains constant contact with existing customer base to check on company progress and the health of the relationship between the customer and the Sales Team.
  • Coordinates new client quotation process, ensuring that quotes are handled on a timely basis and that necessary follow-through with customer occurs.
  • Provides information for sales forecasting, sales trends, profitability and assist in setting sales goals.
  • Directs Account Managers in their day-to-day duties and mentors them in developing/maintaining strong customer relationships both internally and externally.
  • Performs Account Manager job functions (including but not limited to quotes and job entry/tracking) as necessary.
  • Assists with finding suitable new suppliers to support purchasing/manufacturing needs for their customers.
  • Upon completion of a job, retrospectively verifies accuracy of quote(s) and makes any necessary inquiries and/or procedural changes.     
  • Assess personnel needs in the Sales Department.
  • Work with Human Resources to help recruit, interview and hire as needed.
  • Follows established safety protocols including required usage of PPE; helps to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Keeps work area clean and organized
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications and Experience

 

Minimum skills, knowledge, education, certifications and related job experience that employee typically must have to perform essential functions of the job acceptably.

 

  • Associates degree or higher in business, manufacturing, marketing or communications or equivalent prior experience in customer account management.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment or sales relationship that is similar to the products and services IMC provides.
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong communication (verbal and written) skills
  • Dependability; honesty & integrity; a positive, proactive attitude; ability to use time productively, working with minimal supervision both individually and as part of a team.
  • Ability to work overtime as required
