Job Title:  Manufacturing Engineer

Purpose of Position/Summary:

The Manufacturing Engineer will support and assist in the continuous improvement of KYB’s safety, quality, efficiency and processes for all areas of assigned departments.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Develop, evaluate, improve, and document manufacturing processes;
  • Coordinate and manage continuous improvements to improve production performance;
  • Develop and implement process control techniques and procedures into manufacturing environments;
  • Analyze manufacturing process flows continually for the enhancements of quality, cost reduction, and efficiency;
  • Collaborate with configuration control and Production Engineering regarding product tooling and design to ensure efficient production methods;
  • Work closely with the Manufacturing Department to develop, coordinate, and implement technical training for associates;
  • Support the designing and developing of manufacturing processes in collaboration of Production Engineering for enhancement, product changes, new products and launch, and related fixtures and tooling that are consistent with zero defect level and low product cost;
  • Create and maintain accurate process checks and training documentation;
  • Provide engineering support in the Production Department to troubleshoot and resolve technical problems;
  • Support company policies and procedures, goals and objectives, TS16949 regulations as well as ISO 14001 and OSHA regulations;
  • Domestic and international travel is on an as needed basis;
  • Other duties assigned by immediate Supervisor or Manager on an as needed basis.

Job Requirements:

Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, or related field, is required from an accredited institution.  4-6 years of related experience may substitute for a college diploma.  Manufacturing experience in the automotive field preferred.  Must have the ability to read drawings and communicate across all departments both internal and external.  This position requires strong mechanical, mathematical and analytical skills as well as excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.  This position requires the ability to work well with all departments both internal and external.  This position also requires the ability to work in a cross-functional, fast paced environment, and manage multiple initiatives / activities simultaneously.  Must be able to work with urgency and manage pressure.  This position requires proficient computer skills including, but not limited to, Microsoft Office products.  This position requires the ability to use calipers, metric scales, and mechanical hand tools.  Also, this position requires the ability to follow technical documentation.
