JOB SUMMARY This position is responsible for assisting customers, realtors and investors with fixed rate mortgage applications and processing loan documents and handling all aspects of the final stages of the mortgage loan process.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Help with walk-ins as needed.
  • Take customer calls for inquires on rates and mortgage products.
  • Enter loan application data into system and print out initial disclosures for customers to sign on an as needed basis.
  • Complete and analyze mail verifications on applicants.
  • Order and analyze all necessary documentation including VOD, VOE, Social Security Number Verifications, and Tax Transcripts.
  • Order and analyze appraisals.
  • Order and analyze credit reports.
  • Work with investors and underwriters on underwriting requirements.
  • Complete follow-up on all loan and related documents.
  • Work closely with Realtors, customers and appraisers to ensure excellent customer service and timely processing of documents.
  • Ensure that all closing conditions are met prior to closing.
  • Take customer calls for inquires on rates and mortgage products.
  • Meet compliance issues.
  • Must be able to meet attendance and punctuality standards.
  • Assist with all aspects of processing, closing, and post-closing as needed.
  • Effectively work and cooperate with supervisors, co-workers and customers.
  • Follow the direction of supervisor.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform other duties and projects as required by management.
  • Must be active in civic and community events.
Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR CONSIDERATION:

  • High School diploma and previous banking and related experience in providing marketing, accounting, customer service and sales skills.
  • Related experience providing a working knowledge of loan origination, documentation and/or processing is preferred as well as knowledge of VA, FHA and Conventional lending requirements.
  • Computer skills, including MS Word, Excel and AS400.

 

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Real estate regulations and application.
  • Specific skills include ability to type business correspondence and forms.
  • Computer experience should include Windows, MS Word and MS Excel or other word processing and spreadsheet applications.
  • Ability to learn mortgage-lending software required. Must also have the ability to compute basic math functions as well as rates, yields and percentages.
  • Bookkeeping/accounting skills required to balance transactions. Must be able to meet strict deadlines.
  • Must demonstrate excellent customer and employee relations skills to relay documentation needs and requirements.
  • Must demonstrate problem-solving skills to determine investor needs.
  • This position requires a high degree of professionalism, customer service, sales, teamwork and confidentiality.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

This work is sedentary and requires the following physical activities:

  • Sitting for long periods of time; occasional bending, squatting, kneeling, stooping; good finger dexterity and feeling; frequent repetitive motions; talking, hearing, and visual acuity.
  • Frequent lifting (up to 10 pounds of paper supplies or minor office equipment).
  • Driving to client locations and other sites as needed.

 

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Normal office environment.
