Position Summary: The IT Engineer attends to the needs of the helpdesk at TCM. These include the troubleshooting, diagnosis, investigation, resolution and escalation of hardware and software related issues on Mac and Windows platforms. The IT Engineer manages requests on the helpdesk system by identifying, prioritizing, resolving and/or escalating those as needed. This position will support on-site and remote end-users. The ideal candidate should be energetic, personable, possess a strong work ethic and have a flexible schedule.  This position reports to the Network Services Manager.

Essential Duties / Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the first point of contact for customers seeking technical assistance over the phone or email.
  • Assess, assign and prioritize service desk requests.
  • Perform remote troubleshooting through diagnostic techniques and pertinent questions
  • Walk the customer through the problem-solving process
  • Record events and problems and their resolution
  • Follow-up and update customer status and information
  • Manage the setup & recovery of client hardware and/or software
  • Maintain the tracking of IT software and hardware assets
  • Provide technical and logistical support for some end-user related projects
  • Have a flexible schedule to work outside business hours
  • Manage helpdesk functions with limited supervision.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science desired
  • 2+ years of IT support experience desired
  • Ability to assist and support others
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills
  • Great prioritization and organizational skills
  • Customer-oriented and cool-tempered
  • Experience with both Mac and Windows environments.
  • Experience with basic networking.
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite desired, not required.
  • Experience with Office 365 desired, not required.
  • Experience with MS Exchange desired, not required.
  • Experience with virtualization desired, not required.

Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift and carry computers and related peripherals.
