Flat River Group is seeking an Inventory Control Team Lead to assist the IC Supervisor in day-to-day IC functions at our Kentwood location. They will assist in performing daily cycle counts, bin allocation, inventory accuracy, and act as a liaison between the operations staff and the inventory team. This position will also assist Inventory Control leadership during audits, identifying and resolving any discrepancies if found.

 

The ideal candidate will have the ability to multitask, communicate well with other departments, and a desire to take initiative. They will also be responsible for training new IC team members as needed. This is a great opportunity for an individual looking for supply chain and warehousing leadership experience!

 

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Lead regular efforts to verify inventory within the Distribution Center.

  • Ensure IC team upholds all standard operating procedures, work instructions, and safety measures.

  • Responsible for leading employees, using a team approach to create a positive work environment.

  • Participate in operational improvement projects/events.

  • Maintain accuracy of all inventory transfers between DC’s, and units on hold.

  • Must be willing to work in any other department as needed.

  • Reconcile inventories and coordinate cycle count schedules.

  • All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to multitask while working in fast paced environment.
  • Basic understanding of the Inventory Control function within a Distribution Center environment.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Ability to read and analyze data to identify problem SKUs and patterns.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Organizational skills and ability to stay on task with limited supervision.
  • Must be forklift certified and utilize proper forklift operation and safety procedures.
  • Proficient in training employees on new standard operating procedures and coaching employees on best business practices.
  • Intermediate to advanced computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; email; Internet).

 

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 2+ years of warehouse experience, Inventory experience preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
