JOB PURPOSE: 

The Assistant Director (AD) is a combined clinical and administrative position that reports directly to the Clinic Director. The AD will work closely with the Clinic Director to oversee clinic operations, manage budget, and provide clinic support as needed. The AD provides direct client care by conducting assessments to clarify diagnosis and providing therapeutic services to Veterans, active duty members, or their family members. The AD provides oversight of all clinical staff, co-leading group clinical supervision, individual oversight of use of EBPs and compliance within the electronic health record, oversees management of clinic policies and procedures including training, and communicates with CVN regarding electronic health record improvements and implementation. The AD will directly supervise two Supervising Clinicians, Intake Coordinators, Intake Coordinator/Clinician, and the Case Manager. The AD will provide bench strength to the Clinic Director as the main point of contact to ensure all operations continue to function in the absence of the Clinic Director. 

Qualifications

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Assist in directing, managing, and overseeing all clinical operations (e.g., clinical care, staffing, measurement and evaluation, clinic certification (CARF) and financial management (budget), including the tracking, reporting, and responding to the program’s Key Performance Indicators. 

  • Provide overall clinical supervision for the clinic staff, including weekly clinical supervision for Supervising Clinicians, Intake Coordinators, and Case Manager. 

  • Provide direct service treatment for Veterans and their families. Direct services include BPSAs, Treatment Planning, and Treatment using EBPs. 35% of scheduled work hours will be devoted to scheduling direct services with a target goal of 25% completed direct hours. 

  • Manage relationship with the program funders, including overseeing performance measurement (e.g., clinical and operational outcomes reporting) for the clinic. Represent Endeavors and the Clinic at conferences, meetings of service providers within the community, and liaising with other Veteran-service organizations at the local and national level to maintain partnerships and share work of the clinic 

  • Other duties as assigned.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:    

EDUCATION: At least a Master's or Doctorate degree from an accredited college or university in the Mental Health or related field. Must have acquired all related state licensures and/or certifications. Specialized training and experience in evidenced based treatment of trauma required.  

EXPERIENCE: 5-10 years of clinical experience is preferred. Experience across a range of modalities beyond individual adult treatment to include children, couples, and family treatment is preferred. Must have experience treating and diagnosing PTSD as well as co-morbid diagnoses (e.g., anxiety), with evidence-based treatments and providing clinical supervision in these areas. Experience working with a Military or Veteran population is required. Must demonstrate leadership capacity and ability to foster team-building and a supportive, flexible environment. At least three (3) years of managerial/supervisory experience preferred.  

ATTENDANCE: Must maintain regular and acceptable attendance at such level as is determined in the employer’s sole discretion. 

LICENSES: Driver’s License with clear record.  

VEHICLE: Must have daily use of a vehicle without prior notice. 

OTHER: Must be available and willing to travel to various locations and with such frequency as the business need dictates.
