Overview
Surf Internet is seeking a highly experienced strategic leader to plan, architect, and implement our backbone network. This position will work alongside OSP senior leadership to evaluate and plan new and redundant backhaul fiber routes to service our growing Fiber to the Premise network. This leader will supervise and direct the ordering of off net partner facilities as well as the design and building of new transport fiber routes to serve our markets. This role requires creative entrepreneurial skills and developing budgetary market cost analysis.

Responsibilities:
- Plans and accesses best options for network capacity to serve a new and existing markets.
- Able to look comprehensively at whole network and develop strategic vision for backbone connectivity that incorporates resiliency, cost, strategic expansion and other factors
- Manage relationships with other third party carriers, wholesalers and other network service providers
- Assists in creating and administering capital budget plans
- Lead and works with Transport engineers to architect and deploy optical DWDM systems
- Works with Partner telco providers on leasing of circuits to support market needs
- Overall responsible for long term vision of backbone network, architecture, and vendor selection of equipment.
- Provide high level design and budgetary cost estimates of fiber optic backbone routes
- Follows standard practices and procedures in analyzing situations or data.
- Assists Marketing and Sales by providing feasibility pricing of network additions required to support sales requests.
- Coordinate with Engineering team to assess Network needs and cost for serving proposed areas.
- Coordinate with Engineering team to determine network points of presence including data centers, internet exchanges, NNI, etc.
- Insure/maintain compliance with USF rules for circuits provisioned for Surf Internet
