The Opportunity
The People and Culture Director will plan, lead, direct, develop, and coordinate the policies, activities, and staff of the People and Culture department, ensuring legal compliance and implementation of the organization’s mission and talent strategy.
This position exists to help us find the right people for the right job and unleash them to do their best work in pursuit of our mission to empower communities with software for social good. You will manage the people function and help cultivate Benetech culture through the lens of our Truths throughout the organization:

Key Responsibilities
Using an inclusive, transparent, and collaborative approach, you will have the following important roles:
- Find the best talent – create inclusive job descriptions, manage the recruiting process, develop talent.
- Collaborates with senior leadership to understand Benetech’s goals and strategy related to staffing, recruiting, and retention.
- People Ops – ensure accessibility of all employee platforms, compensation and total rewards systems, payroll, benefits, HRIS, and training.
- Culture – create equity and a sense of belonging for everyone. This includes employee surveys, continuous improvement based on employee feedback in collaboration with deltaSquad and the Racial Justice Committee, and organizational gatherings and celebrations.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, and evolve policies that support our mission and truths. Plans, leads, develops, coordinates, and implements policies, processes, training, initiatives, and surveys to support the organization's human resource compliance and strategy needs.
- Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law; applies this knowledge to communicate changes in policy, practice, and resources to upper management.
- Manage a small team that includes 2 People and Culture staff members.
