QC Microbiology Lab Technician II

Summary:

The Quality Control Microbiology Lab Technician II is responsible for basic, yet essential laboratory tasks aimed at maintaining operational continuity. Essential duties outlined below are vital in ensuring equipment and instrumentation are appropriately maintained and functional aspects of the laboratory are  sustained.

Essential Duties

• Work in a safe manner in accordance with site procedures
• Maintain the laboratory in accordance with SOPs, cGMPs, OSHA and FDA regulations
• Receive ordered materials, label, and store appropriately
• Perform daily, weekly, and monthly tasks, such as:
  • Laboratory cleaning
  • Calibrations or standardizations (conductivity meter, pH meter, etc.)
  • Basic preventive maintenance on equipment
  • Checking and changing charts
  • Safety checks
• Review equipment and instrument logbooks
• Perform data package pagination and filing
• Prepare portable equipment (pipettes, etc.) for external calibration and servicing
• Prepare basic laboratory solutions
• Perform growth promotion testing of microbiological media
• Other duties as assigned

• High school diploma or GED
• Good organizational skills
• Experience with Microsoft Office programs is preferred
• Good interpersonal skills
• Ability to work well in a team environment
• Attention to detail
