Release Manager II


Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and manage all activities pertaining to upcoming software releases.
  • Coordinate across all software development groups to ensure deployment packages and configurations are complete, accurate and meet required deadlines
  • Investigate Tier 3 issues, bugs escalated by the customer support team
  • Monitor production environments to ensure all systems are working as expected.
  • Help mitigate any production issues and work with support team to provide necessary messaging on status of issue
  • Work with department head to help enforce processes and procedures established by the team


Job Description:


  • Work with the Release Manager to forward plan the release windows and cycles
  • Assist with negotiating, planning, and managing all release activities for services and support
  • Manage risk and resolve issues that affect application quality, stability, and security for assigned deployments
  • Measure and monitor progress of assigned deployments to ensure application releases are delivered on time and that they meet or exceed expectations
  • Assist with communicating release details and schedules to the business as required
  • Work with release engineers and developers to understand the impact of branches and code merges
  • Provide delivery and implementation support for customer user acceptance testing and go-live activities
  • Maintain the release schedule for services and support and ensure alignment across key partners and vendors
  • Assist with maintaining and documenting all modules and components of the system, their dependencies, and optimal operation to ensure successful deployments
  • Continually work towards making improvements in the release process

  • Excellent attention to detail, strong investigative skills, and exceptional analytical skills
  • Excellent written and verbal skills, including the ability to clearly articulate technical issues and activities to technical and non-technical staff
  • Demonstrate ability to prioritize and multi-ask in a deadline driven, high pressure environment
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to adapt in a complex and changing environment
  • Consistently meet expected production, accuracy, and quality standards as set by management
  • Must be team oriented with the ability to work independently and have the flexibility to work on holidays and weekends as needed
  • Well-developed practical operating knowledge of common desktop/laptop hardware and Web application software specifically


Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with deployment management tools and practices - e.g., TeamCity, Octopus Deploy, etc.
  • Development and/or QA experience
  • Exposure to PCI (Payment Card Industry) compliance standards and software development lifecycles
  • Understanding of the payments and banking industry (credit cards, ACH, chargebacks, returns, etc.)
  • Insurance industry experience dealing with a policy and/or agency management system
  • Technical or customer support in the payment processing industry


Experience & Education:


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience
  • 2+ years of technical SaaS (Software as a Service) support experience
  • 2+ years of pervious release management experience
  • Experience with Microsoft Database technologies (i.e., SQL Server), MS Communication technologies (i.e., Exchange), MS Collaboration technologies (i.e., MS Teams), JIRA ticketing system
  • Experience working in an IT (Information Technology) environment with extensive Microsoft or Azure cloud-based infrastructures
  • Advanced knowledge of software development lifecycle
