Description

Counselors In Training will live in a cabin with a group of campers, where they can build intentional relationships with each camper to help them experience and know the love of Jesus. Counselors in Training are responsible for assisting the Counselor in all daily tasks. They will help provide a safe environment for campers while modeling a personal relationship with Jesus.

 

Job Type

  • Seasonal Full-Time Salaried

  • Terms begin at 2 weeks

  • Mandatory Training May 20th and 21st, 2023

 

Key Job Accountabilities

  • Help provide a safe environment for campers

  • Model a personal relationship with Jesus

  • Assist the Counselor in all aspects of daily camp activities, including but not limited to; serving meals, camper care, cleaning, and more

  • Participate in all activities with campers, including water sports, target sports, general recreation activities and more

  • Attend all required staff meetings and events

  • Actively engage and participate in the CIT program through a godly attitude, words and actions

  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor

Qualifications

General Qualifications

The Counselor In Training must be a maturing follower of Jesus, still growing and developing in his/her faith. He/she must be fully in accordance with Carolina Creek Christian Camps (CCCC) mission statement, and statement of beliefs; committed to living these out personally, and instilling them in the organization. He/she must be of strong moral character and integrity. Must be able to fulfill all job responsibilities and physical demands, with or without reasonable accommodation.

 

Education/Certifications/Licenses

  • High School Students ages 16-18 are eligible.

 

Work Experience

  • Some experience with children or youth is preferred.

  • Prior job experience preferred.

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Must be a team player, and willing to work in all types of weather.

  • Must be flexible with an ability to adjust in challenging situations.

 

Physical Demands:

The physical environment requires the employee to work both inside and outside in hot and humid conditions. Requires sitting, standing, squatting, stooping, twisting, hiking long distances on varied terrain, shouting, ability to lift/carry anywhere from 15 to over 50 lbs., and engage in difficult and exhausting manual labor, often over long stretches of time without breaks.

 

Additional Requirements

  • Adherence to company dress code and professional standards for personal grooming and appearance.

  • Ability to provide three references (spiritual, personal, and professional).

  • Ability to provide proof of eligibility to work in the United States.
