Position Summary: 

In collaboration with the Director of Product, the Manager, Instructional Learning will lead the design and development of learning assets for teacher professional development (PD) across all of Participate Learning’s products. The Manager, Instructional Learning will collaborate closely with subject matter experts at Participate Learning, as well as outside the organization, to build innovative online and blended educator learning experiences. S/he will identify pedagogical best practices and supporting educational technologies needed for high-quality educator PD and work with subject matter experts to articulate the goals, assessments, activity paths, learning content, learning products, and facilitation plans for each learning experience.

 

Responsibilities: 

  • Lead peers in instructional design, adult learning principles and innovation strategies in the conception, design and development of learning assets for teachers across all Participate Learning programs. 

  • Collaborate with teams across the organization in developing scalable learning experiences and create learning assets that will increase the reach of program managers, instructional specialists and strategic coaches.

  • Collaborate with internal or external teams to lead the conversion of complex topics into rich interactive digestible learning assets such as interactive videos, presentations, games, advertisements, and other formats that will increase the effectiveness of teacher learning and help scale it. 

  • Ensure learning assets created by other team members or external contractors fully meet the outlined training objectives and company brand standards.

  • Oversee the launch and promotion of learning experiences across different channels, to include Participate Learning’s communities of practice, social media and newsletters, etc.

  • Recommend and implement in-flight changes to learning assets based on data.

  • Review analytics on a regular cycle to assess design theories as they play out over time, identify creative solutions for improvements, and recommend possible revisions. 

  • Assist in assessing the effectiveness of learning experiences.

  • Ensure strategic communications with internal and external stakeholders on educator professional development projects.

  • Review community analytics to assess the implementation effectiveness of learning experiences within Participate Learning’s Communities of Practice and identify solutions for increased community engagement around launched learning experiences. 

Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Education and 5+ years instructional guidance experience. 

  • Prior experience as a classroom teacher and an instructional coach for new and developing teachers. 

  • Experience with global education foundations and incorporating global into teaching practices is a plus. 

  • Demonstrated knowledge of instructional design and educational technology best practices.

  • Demonstrated experience developing team-based, collaborative, and/or project-based learning experiences for educators.

  • Demonstrated experience developing online and/or blended programming that creatively leverages new-technologies, including in the context of online communities of practice.

  • Ability to solve complex problems under time pressure.

  • Ability to work collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders.

  • Excellent organizational and management abilities.

 

Occasional travel to districts and schools may be required.
