Bilingual in English/Spanish strongly preferred.

Bachelor's degree in public policy, social work, business or related field preferred; four years of work experience may be substituted, in lieu of degree

Minimum of 5-8 years of significant professional experience in non-profit sector, public policy, social work, program management or other relevant experience

Minimum of 5 years of experience managing full time paid staff wage-earning supervisory experience.

Ability to flex communication style to multiple cultural environments.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and ability to present to diverse audiences, specifically racially, ethnically, and socioeconomically diverse communities.

Strong analytical ability to utilize program data to inform program development; strategic thinker capable of shaping overall business strategy.

High level of emotional intelligence, political astuteness, diplomacy and relationship building skills

Demonstrated program management experience, including experience building and expanding programs.

Understands and values equity as an organizational operating principle and is committed to continued learning on issues related to diversity, equity and inclusion.

Knowledge of racial justice, social equity, and systemic racism; sensitivity to issues and concerns of communities of color and other diverse groups

In depth knowledge of public benefits and Federal nutrition programs

Extensive experience and relationships with Southwest Texas community and service providers.

Demonstrated ability to successfully work with families of varying socio-economic backgrounds.

Proven knowledge and demonstrated proficiency with current HIPAA regulations required.

Demonstrated knowledge, understanding, familiarity, and sensitivity to hunger and poverty issues.

Ability to work cooperatively and productively within a high-performance, results-oriented, environment.

Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.

Must possess and maintain a valid Texas Driver’s License and proof of insurance.

Work Environment
This job is performed in an indoor office environment and occasionally may require attendance at outdoor events. You may be required to drive to different locations with varying conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
