What You Bring:

  • Ability to read civil engineering plans, surveys/easement plats, understands geotechnical analysis and subsurface reporting; architectural drawings, landscape design and implementation
  • Understands land planning and civil engineering design.
  • General knowledge of various legal documents for project development
  • At least five (5) years of supervising new site development and /or vertical construction experience with a minimum of two (2) years of project management experience and high level of understanding of utility construction.
  • Strong reporting, negotiating, problem solving, interpersonal and communication skills;
  • Ability to exercise sound judgement and work within deadlines;
  • High levels of integrity, work ethic and dependability.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with preparation of accurate and realistic budgets and proformas
  • Manage site and building contractors to ensure timely delivery of pad sites and building construction.
  • Constantly validate that the construction budget is adequate to cover all anticipated expenditures
  • Inspect sites as necessary for cleanliness, organization and any potential hazards or delays.
  • Prepare schedules which address design, permitting, construction, and occupancy milestones
  • Coordinate with local dry utility (Power, Gas, Phone, Cable) representatives and entities for installation/relocation etc.
  • Responsible for Governmental approvals, site acceptance and all site bond release activities.
  • Assist with Bid / Negotiate / Award / Administer all contracts in accordance with Company policy and procedures
  • Inspect the quality and progress of work on a regular basis
  • Assists in managing civil engineering design, architectural design and permitting for self- storage development projects in Virginia and Maryland.
  • Point of contact for development activities from contracting, procurement, pad delivery, vertical development through occupancy permits.
  • Coordinates with Bond Manager on bonding requirements and completes bond release process upon completion of project.
