Position Overview 

The IT Support Staff Member will be responsible for providing technical support primarily for Chromebook devices and printers used throughout the school campus, as well as overseeing end-of-year device collection and summer commissioning of new devices for the next school year. Additionally, the IT Technician may assist with classroom technology setup, event set-up, or other support needs as assigned by the Manager of IT Services. 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support for Chromebook devices used by students, faculty, and staff, including hardware and software troubleshooting, system configuration, and user assistance.

  • Assist in managing Chromebook and printer inventory and managing warranties and repairs.

  • Collaborate with IT team members to resolve technical issues and escalate problems when necessary.

  • Assist in the end-of-year collection of Chromebook devices from students, ensuring proper documentation and organization of returned devices.

  • Assist with the summer commissioning process for new Chromebook devices, including setting up, cleaning, configuring, and testing devices for the upcoming school year.

  • Assist with classroom setup and breakdown projects, installing technology equipment, and ensuring classrooms are ready for the next academic year.

  • Serve as event support technician for a/v equipment.

  • Perform other projects and tasks as assigned by the Manager of IT Services.

 

Qualifications & Skills

MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Ability and willingness to support users, endpoints, and infrastructure. 

  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.

  • Experience working in and supporting a Google Workspace environment.

  • Strong organizational, administrative, and management skills, including ability to prioritize, and communicate.

  • Adaptable problem solver, able to adjust in real-time.

  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a larger team.

  • Successful criminal background check.

PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's Degree.

  • 1 + year experience providing technical support.

  • Experience providing IT support in a school environment.

  • Some lifting and carrying required of objects up to 30 lbs. 

  • Regular standing and/or walking, along with the need to bend, reach, climb and kneel.
