Camp Counselors
Fort Wonder is seeking qualified applicants to join our 2024 team! If you are passionate about education, have an energetic summer spirit, and are interested in creating a summer full of memories for our campers (and yourself), we want to hear from you!
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Responsible for the daily management of a single group of campers in a specific age group.
- Provide campers with physical safety and emotional support to create a positive camp experience.
- Lead campers through their daily activities.
- Oversee Assistant Camp Counselors in the execution of camp curriculum.
- Communicates directly with parents of campers in their group as needed.
- Commitment of at least 3 weeks of Signature Camps required. Priority given to applicants who can work the full 6 weeks of Signature Camps.
- Must be able to attend paid training for the week of May 28.
- Working hours are 8 AM - 4 PM, Monday through Friday, with a 30-minute lunch break daily. Additional Extended Care hours may be available (but not required).
- Pay Range: $15+ per hour
Minimum qualifications:
- Must be at least 16 years of age
- Demonstrated experience working with children
- Candidates 18 and over must pass a criminal background check and pre-employment drug screen
- Positive verification of references
Physical demands:
- Must be able to push, pull, carry, and lift up to 50 pounds
- Will spend significant portions of the day walking or standing
- Subject to outside environmental conditions
