Camp Counselors

 

Fort Wonder is seeking qualified applicants to join our 2024 team! If you are passionate about education, have an energetic summer spirit, and are interested in creating a summer full of memories for our campers (and yourself), we want to hear from you!

 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Responsible for the daily management of a single group of campers in a specific age group.
  • Provide campers with physical safety and emotional support to create a positive camp experience.
  • Lead campers through their daily activities.
  • Oversee Assistant Camp Counselors in the execution of camp curriculum.
  • Communicates directly with parents of campers in their group as needed.
  • Commitment of at least 3 weeks of Signature Camps required. Priority given to applicants who can work the full 6 weeks of Signature Camps.
  • Must be able to attend paid training for the week of May 28.
  • Working hours are 8 AM - 4 PM, Monday through Friday, with a 30-minute lunch break daily. Additional Extended Care hours may be available (but not required).
  • Pay Range: $15+ per hour

 

Minimum qualifications:

  • Must be at least 16 years of age
  • Demonstrated experience working with children
  • Candidates 18 and over must pass a criminal background check and pre-employment drug screen
  • Positive verification of references 

Physical demands:

  • Must be able to push, pull, carry, and lift up to 50 pounds
  • Will spend significant portions of the day walking or standing
  • Subject to outside environmental conditions
