Description

The Arc Central Chesapeake Region (The Arc) supports people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) to live, work, and connect with their communities.

As the Learning & Development Facilitator, you will organize and deliver key learning and development training opportunities aligned with The Arc’s strategic plan, culture, and person-centered philosophy, creating leaders at every level. In addition to coaching and developing frontline and midlevel managers, you will be responsible for managing our Career Ladder program for direct support professionals (DSPs), providing support to DSPs throughout the duration of their program to ensure success.

Our in-house expert on NADSP certifications, Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) training best practices, Coach Approach, and SDI, the Learning & Development Facilitator will design and deliver various face-to-face workshops, trainings, virtual, and hybrid experiences. Assisting the Director of Talent Development, working with outside content providers, and organizing effective and engaging development opportunities for leaders of the organization is all in a day’s work for the Learning & Development Facilitator.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have experience managing a team, have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and exercise initiative when working collaboratively with diverse personalities and employee populations.

This position requires a bachelor’s degree in organizational development, education, or a related field along with three years of experience creating, leading, and facilitating management and professional development sessions, though increased experience can be substituted for a degree. A master’s degree in organizational development, human resources, or adult education and/or an APTD Certification through the Association for Talent Development is a plus. The salary is $72,000 annually and comes with a competitive total rewards package.
