The Director of Global Engagement and Experiential Learning will promote creativity, innovation, emotional intelligence, and cross-cultural competencies by providing PK-12 students with age-appropriate opportunities to expand their horizons, challenge and discover themselves, and constructively engage and contribute to our world in meaningful ways.


Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Design, coordinate, and champion the school’s engagement with community partners - local through global - and experiential learning in grades PK-12

  • Collaborate closely with the Assistant Head of School, Dean of Studies, Director of Wellness, division heads, faculty, and other stakeholders to provide curriculum, programs, tools, and experiences that inspire and equip students to fulfill their potential and embrace the charge to grow in Mind, Body, and Spirit

  • Collaborate with students, families, and faculty to facilitate and foster student growth and to cultivate an inclusive community grounded in Saint Andrew’s core values

  • Areas of practice could include global education, character education, leadership development, outdoor education, current affairs education, service learning, community engagement, social entrepreneurship, and establishing and utilizing networks of relationships with like-minded schools and partners worldwide

  • Serve on the Academic Affairs Committee and the Educational Leadership Team

  • In conjunction with the division heads, department chairs, and deans work with and support faculty and staff to provide coherent and comprehensive array of age-appropriate programs to realize a Portrait of a Scot that includes activities both inside and outside classrooms

  • Serve as the Upper School Immersion Director and assist Middle and Lower School Immersion Directors in the implementation of their programs

  • Oversee the school’s engagement with Round Square and coordinate related activities and expeditions in accordance with the Round Square practices and IDEALS

  • Connect IB principles and units of study with opportunities for student engagement and experiential learning 

  • Coordinate and manage risks on all non-athletic trips and off-campus experiences (PK-12), including international travel and exchanges for students and faculty

  • Plan and conduct age-appropriate group activities and programs to enhance and support academic and social-emotional growth

  • Work with Assistant Head, chaplains, deans, division heads, and other stakeholders to develop and implement a coherent and comprehensive service learning program (PK-12)

  • Teach one course per semester in a related field


The successful candidate will possess excellent written and oral communication skills, as well as proficiency in applicable technologies, dynamic interpersonal skills, and impeccable organizational skills. A bachelor’s degree is required, and a graduate degree strongly preferred. Candidates are expected to have prior proven successful experience with teaching and  educational administration, preferably in an independent school or at the college level, including developing educational programming, organizing and leading student trips, managing budgets and risks, and coordinating collaborative projects, ideally for both students and faculty with local and global partners. Experience living in other countries and the ability to speak more than one language both would be assets, but are not required. All candidates also are expected to support and uphold the mission and vision of Saint Andrew’s School beyond the scope of any particular program.
