QUALIFICATIONS: Experience in higher education required. Terminal degree in relevant field preferred. Experience in fields including peacebuilding, conflict transformation, restorative justice, community/international development, or related fields desired. Demonstrated ability in program management, financial management, and personnel management, preferably in an academic setting desired.
RESPONSIBILITIES: The Executive Director (ED) is an EMU administrative appointment with faculty status responsible for overall leadership and management of the Center for Justice and Peacebuilding. The ED directs the mission of CJP and promotes the Center across and beyond EMU, builds relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, and develops resources for CJP’s success. Duties include overseeing strategic planning, administration, budget preparation, curriculum (credit and non-credit), and promotion of CJP. The ED is responsible for setting vision, collaborating in developing curriculum, and meeting enrollment targets for graduate programs. The ED will provide experience and expertise in fields related to CJP’s core mission in areas such as graduate education, training initiatives, practice opportunities, and other programs across the university as needed. The duties may include teaching a minimum of one class per academic calendar year. The ED reports to the Dean of the School of Social Sciences and Professions.
