The Accountant will assist accounting staff with their responsibilities such as payroll, payables, and credit card responsibilities. He/she is responsible to model a genuine lifestyle of Christian discipleship, nurturing spiritual growth of staff in a manner consistent with CCCC’s mission, vision and values.
The Accountant must be a mature follower of Jesus, still growing and developing in his/her faith. He/she must be fully in accord with Carolina Creek’s mission statement, and statement of beliefs; committed to living these out personally, and instilling them in the organization. He/she must be of strong moral character and integrity.

Key Job Accountabilities

Reconciles bank accounts daily

Prepare and enter journal entries

Prepare general ledger account reconciliations and research any issues

Track fixed assets and depreciation

Ensures all entries in general ledger are coded properly
-
Conducts research on accounting issues including support of accounting software

Close month timely
-
Assist with annual audit by preparing worksheets, reconciliations, and any data requested by the auditor

Assist with retail inventory
-
Reconcile all restricted funds
-
Check transactions for appropriate coding according to GL account, location, department, project, and funds
-
Prepare entries from Stripe, Square, or any other receipt of funds
-
Develop custom reports from payroll software (PayCom)
-
Prepare ACHs, wire transfers, and transfers within the bank
-
Assist with preparation of 1099s
-
Implement, maintain, and improve processes and internal controls
-
Capable of “thinking outside the box” and understanding interdepartmental needs
-
Capable of switching gears while in the middle of a task
-
Reports to the Director of Business and Accounting with the ability to assist with any tasks requested by the Director

Attend all required staff meetings and events
-
Actively participate in and contribute to the broader camp programs of CCCC

Actively engage and participate in the staff community through a godly attitude, words and actions
Supervisory Responsibilities
