Protecting rights of Minnesotans with limited incomes, disabilities, and those 60+.
Mid-Minnesota Legal Aid (MMLA) is a nonprofit law firm whose mission is to advocate for the legal rights of vulnerable, disadvantaged Minnesotans so that they may enjoy safe, healthy, and independent lives in strong communities. MMLA accomplishes this goal by providing direct legal advice and representation to individual clients, engaging in policy advocacy to achieve systemic change at all levels of government, developing collaborations with community organizations who also serve MMLA's clients, and providing outreach and legal education to clients, organizations, and the community.
Mid-Minnesota Legal Aid is an Equal Opportunity Employer
MMLA is committed to inclusive hiring and dedicated to diversity in our work and staff. We strongly encourage candidates of all identities, experiences, and communities to apply. We welcome information about how your experience can contribute to serving our diverse client communities. Applicants are encouraged to share in their cover letter how they can further our goal of equal justice for all. We are committed to a discrimination- and harassment-free workplace.
Our Racial Justice Values Statement
Diversity, inclusion, and equity are core values for Mid-Minnesota Legal Aid, and it is critical that we incorporate these values into all aspects of our work. We recognize the particular and highly detrimental impact of racism -- and Minnesota's racial disparities -- on MMLA's clients and staff. We will therefore devote special attention to issues of racial justice.
We commit to:
- Ensuring our work is rooted in the communities which we serve
- Strengthening MMLA's organizational capacity through increased racial diversity, inclusion, and equity
- Developing and applying a racial equity lens to our work with clients
- Advancing the cause of racial justice in our client representation and policy advocacy work
