The Behavioral Health Manager is responsible for providing individual and group supervision to Master's level staff in relation to their clinical cases and assisting them in their professional growth. This position will review and approve clinical documentation produced by supervisees and other behavioral health staff members in accordance with established quality standards, adhering to strict confidentiality standards and regulations, and assisting in the development of appropriate clinical treatment goals and interventions for the guests in the program. Additionally, the Behavioral Health Manager may participate in the daily provision of services to guests within the program through assessment, diagnosing, direct mental health therapy and group therapy functions ensuring guests are supported in overcoming dependencies, identifying healthy adjustment skills and making changes that will support their recovery.

 

What you will do 

  • Assist the Director, Behavioral Health in the development, implementation, and day-to-day operation of the Mission’s Behavioral Health program
  • Supervise clinical staff providing training, work assignment and review, performance evaluations and employee discipline as necessary.
  • Provide individual supervision to Master-level clinicians concerning their clinical case management and treatment service provision
  • Meet individually with clinicians and interns weekly to provide clinical consultation, oversight and training
  • Review of ASWB Clinical Social Work Study Guide for Social Workers who need test prep for licensure.
  • Review of License Mental Health Clinical requirements and test prep materials.
  • Review and approve clinical documentation and assist in the development of appropriate clinical treatment goals and interventions for the guests in the program
  • Manage treatment planning including all of the following: assisting with Utilization Review, ensuring psychiatric and other consultation is used appropriately, ensure that treatment plans are reviewed in a timely and appropriate manner, ensure that guests are engaged in the treatment program for themselves and of their child (if applicable)
  • Supervise Group Therapy meeting which includes case staffings, topics of choice, practice questions, and clinical cases where diagnosing and treatment planning is practiced.
  • Conduct individual counseling for mental health issues, addiction, Christian direction, and domestic violence issues.
  • Coordinate consultation with therapists and case management, including mental health, family and individual treatment and behavior modification needs
  • Advocate for and support program participants through intakes, referrals, safety planning, educational classes, individual advocacy-based counseling, and groups.
  • Attend wrap, focus, and staff meetings as scheduled.
  • Ensure that records and guest information is held in the strictest of confidence per federal and state standards
  • Be willing to be trained, and use Lifespan Integration therapy for trauma resolution.
  • Participate in the Grace-based philosophy of ministry and the self-evaluation process.
  • Teach classes to assist Mission guests to understand cycles of abuse, addiction, and other classes as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Counseling or a related field is required
  • LMHC or related license is required
  • Clinical Supervisor Certification is required
  • 4+ years of experience working as a licensed counselor is required
  • 6+ years of experience working as a licensed counselor is preferred
  • 2+ years of experience providing administrative and clinical supervision is highly preferred
  • Experience in program development and administration for chronically homeless individuals with mental health and substance use disorders is highly preferred
  • Experience in social service organizations is highly preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit for long periods in a temperature-controlled environment. Requires frequent use of computers, keyboarding, and talking on the telephone. Frequently uses judgement and decision-making skills to counsel and assist guests in crisis. Occasionally will stand, balance, twist, bend, stoop, kneel and reach with hands/arms. Regularly lifts up to 20 pounds and walks using stairways to climb multiple floors within the facility. Specific vision abilities required for this job include close vision, color vision, distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
